Set in a fictional country in the present day, Etna is a heartbreaking and heartwarming novel about the aftermath of a war—narrated by a dog soldier. Sounds strange? Actually, it’s perfect.
Because of his personal attachment to his dog Oscar (see link below), the author is able to share with utter authenticity Etna’s thoughts and emotions.
Reading Etna’s story is a rare and beautiful experience, as he seeks to return home after the devastation of war through perilous territories and with the help of a surprising cast of characters.
It’s mostly a story about hope and perseverance.
The audiobook, only 3 hours and 27 minutes, is narrated exquisitely by Shrader Thomas. Either reading or listening is exceptional!
This is certainly one of the best books of 2026.
I hope you’ll read it!
Love,
💛
